Transplanting Maples and Growing Roses

June 6th, 2005 9:26 pm

I’ve been working on my house lately and one of the things that I have enjoyed lately is landscaping.

This past weekend I transplanted an eight foot maple tree from the side of my house to the back perimeter. The picture you see is of the maple tree the following day. It doesn’t look too healthy at the moment but I think it will do just fine. The recent rain will help.

While removing some weeds I spotted a rose bush that had just started blossoming. One rose bud looked so perfect with the rain drops on its petals. I used a wire support to string the rose branches (and thorns :) ) upwards.

I also laid down a lot of red cedar multch in between the grass and the house. The grass seed that I had been sprinkling around has come up like astro turf. I am very pleased with my landscaping efforts.

Hey, that looks like a pot plant in the background… First you have the radio station, now this. Rebel!

Actually, I have no idea what a pot plant looks like…
