Hello World

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

Ever since losing the site back in March, I’ve been working hard to restore it and make sure it doesn’t happen again. I’ve:

  • Restored most of the original functionality of the web site.
  • Uploaded a ton of pictures.
  • Separated and
  • Created a user database and registration system.
  • Added more admin interfaces.
  • Made backups and saved them 🙂

I can now allow registered users privileged access to the none pictures. So far it’s a manual process where I can assign you to a group or grant you access to particular directories.

Enjoy! Let me know if you have any problems.

Wedding Domino Rally

Friday, July 22nd, 2005

Three of my friends recently proposed to their girlfriends. It’s time to play Wedding Domino Rally!

Congratulations to Swooty and Carrie!
Congratulations to Todd and Christine!
Congratulations to Alan and Cindy!

You should have the weddings on the same day and see who can get more people. The over/under is 200 people and I’ll be taking bets now.

You’ve got cash!

Keyboards are Evolving

I need, I want, I have to have: The Optimus Keyboard. It has individual lcd screens for each of the keys and would allow you to have custom key sets for any application or game.

Suburb of Heroes

Tuesday, July 12th, 2005

A little over a year ago, I started playing City of Heroes. Slowly I improved my character with new powers and enhancements by gaining higher and higher levels. This past weekend, I achieved level 50 with my character PurpleProtector. I was determined to reach “the end” once I got my character up to around level 35.

All in all, I thought it was a great game. PurpleProtector was a storm summoner so I got to do some pretty cool things like hurricanes, snow storms, freezing rain, and thunder claps. My favorite was the lightning cloud.

Considering the monthly $15 subscription, I’ve canceled my account. I’ve never paid so much for a single video game. Was it worth it? Well it was fun, but I did spend an astronomical amount of time playing. City of Heroes reports that I have been playing for 425 hours… That’s 17.7 days worth of video gaming…

Dave Barry is My Blog Buddy

Sunday, July 10th, 2005

When I was growing up, I would read books written by Dave Barry. He’s a clever and hilarious comedian that I would highly recommend you check out.

Today I noticed a surge in traffic coming to my site and I traced it back to Dave Barry’s blog! Yup, that’s right, the one and only Dave Barry is linking to little old me.
