Whoa, That's Heavy

March 8th, 2007 9:02 pm

Mmm, heavy cream...Life’s been changing recently for me. I’m getting a new car in April and I’m also having a baby near the end of July.

Now, I’ve found myself changing the way I drink my coffee. One morning we ran out of milk, and I tried using some heavy cream as a substitute. Yeah yeah yeah, I know, who cares? I do, and so should you. I had no idea how creamy and delicious coffee could be! If you’ve never tried it yourself, do me (and yourself) a favor and give it a shot. A shot of heavy cream that is.

Mmm, dairy products…

I’ve also just started using cream, and I keep it in the house at all times now, as we’re not big dairy drinkers, so our milk usually goes bad before we finish it. Cream is sold in smaller amounts and lasts a lot longer, so it’s perfect.

Also, if you have a stick blender around, you can turn it into whipped cream in less than a minute. It makes any dessert better.

Half & Half also lasts a while, tastes better in milk than coffee, and is a bit less bad for you. But you can’t whip it.

I WISH they made bacon flavored heavy cream!
