Cream is sold in smaller amounts and lasts a lot longer, so it’s perfect.

Also, if you have a stick blender around, you can turn it into whipped cream in less than a minute. It makes any dessert better.

Half & Half also lasts a while, tastes better in milk than coffee, and is a bit less bad for you. But you can’t whip it.
