Throwing a Superbowl Party?

February 2nd, 2013 9:45 am

2013 Super Bowl BingoThis Superbowl Sunday will certainly have some action packed football playing of the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers in the 2013 Superbowl XLVII.

Are YOU looking to turn your Superbowl party into the ultimate football party? If your party is like most Superbowl Parties you will have a mix of football fans and non-fans, old and young, male and female. So what is a good way to include all of your guests?

Superbowl Bingo!

It’s a very popular party favorite year after year. I’ve been playing this game for over 10 years now and I get asked about every year. My friends want to make sure I have it available at the Superbowl party. It’s almost like they enjoy the bingo game more than the big game!

When the big game cuts to commercials, don’t let the action stop, print out some Superbowl Commercials Bingo. Even if the game is boring or a blowout, everyone in your Superbowl party will have a good time.

Superbowl Box Score Analysis for 2013

February 2nd, 2013 9:31 am

This Sunday, many football fans will have an added interest in the Super Bowl XLVII between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers. They’ll be rooting for their “squares” or their “boxes“.

In the most popular and common version of the pool, each box holder is assigned a number between 0-9 for each team. If the number in the box matches the last digit in the score at the end of each quarter, that box holder wins. Here’s how the first 40 Super Bowls have paid out:

Superbowl Box Score Analysis

My favorite strategy that I like to employ every year is to purchase a full diagonal or other arrangement which locks in each number for both teams. No matter what the score is, I will have one of the numbers for one of the teams. Then every time the score changes, I have a chance it can land on me. Sure, it’s all luck but I enjoy playing this way.

What is YOUR strategy?

Not Buying Halo 3 Legendary Edition or Xbox 360

September 26th, 2007 2:01 am

Xbox 360 Console Halo 3 Special EditionThere’s a lot of hype going on about Halo 3 for the Xbox 360, and I, for one, will not be be a sucker. I don’t own an Xbox 360 and I certainly don’t plan on buying the console because of this game. I own a “regular” Xbox and I was unimpressed with Halo 1 and Halo 2. Especially with the annoying Halo 2 texture bug.

Halo 3 Legendary EditionI found Halo 1 to be average with noticeable, lazy developer, “copy and paste” moments for the level design. Ho hum…

I never bought Halo 2 because of the bug and it just didn’t wow me. Zzzzz…

Now that Halo 3 is coming out, Microsoft is going nuts releasing 3 different versions of the game! There’s the simple Halo 3, Halo 3 Limited Edition, and the colossal Halo 3 Legendary Edition.

And people are actually buying the legendary version of Halo 3. There’s no way I’m spending $129 on a single game that includes a helmet!

Microsoft has even re-skinned their console into the Xbox 360 Halo 3 Special Edition. I have to admit, that green console looks cool :)

I was considering getting the console until I learned one strikingly surprising fact… Get ready, it’s a shocker…

It DOES NOT include the game Halo 3! Do you believe that? Isn’t that confusing? I can imagine many people missing that one little line that says “Halo 3 game is NOT included”. Considering the green version is $50 more expensive than the regular white version, you’d expect it to include the game. Boo Microsoft!

My Wii Fitness Age

February 12th, 2007 9:57 am

My Wii Fitness AgeI finally got a Nintendo Wii and I’ve been having lots of fun playing it. The game that comes with the console is called Wii Sports and it has this one mode where you go through a fitness trial. Fitness isn’t exactly up my alley but since I like to explore anything and everything related to games, I decided to give it a shot. Especially since this isn’t exactly a true workout.

After testing your abilities in 3 sports, they show you the results which consists of a little graph and your “Wii Fitness Age”. At first they tricked me and flashed the age of 41 up on the screen, but then played a little “Wah wah wah wahhhhhh” music and changed it to the actual score of 29.

29???

I’m 28! Wrong Nintendo! :)
